CHARLIT is a Charlotte inspired apparel brand for people who want to represent the Queen City without wearing something that feels like souvenir merch.
We started with a simple idea: take familiar influences from culture, design and everyday life and reinterpret them through a Charlotte lens.
The result: graphic tees that feel local, wearable and a little unexpected.
Born in Charlotte
CHARLIT started in Charlotte, North Carolina with a handful of original t-shirt designs and a belief that city apparel could be more creative.
We wanted to make Charlotte shirts we’d actually wear. Not just on game day, but every day.
So we built the brand around the city’s culture, personality and unmistakable point of view.
A Charlotte Original
CHARLIT has never been about putting the word “Charlotte” on a shirt and calling it a day. Our approach has always been to take recognizable ideas, local inspiration, and pieces of culture and give them a Charlotte point of view. Some designs are subtle. Some are playful. All of them start with the same question:
Would we actually wear this?
If the answer is no, it doesn’t make the collection.
Then We Took a Break
After building CHARLIT and creating a collection worn around Charlotte and beyond, we stepped away from the brand.
For five years, the store was offline.
But the idea never disappeared.
Old designs kept showing up. People kept asking about the brand. And eventually, it became clear that CHARLIT deserved another chapter.
CHARLIT is Back
We’re returning intentionally, starting with a small collection of some of the original designs our customers loved most.
No massive catalog. No unnecessary noise.
Just Charlotte inspired apparel we believe deserves another run.
From here, we’ll keep creating around the three things that have always defined CHARLIT:
Charlotte. Culture. Creativity.
Made to be Worn
Our goal has never been to make something that simply says Charlotte. It’s to make something you’d choose to wear anyway.
Comfortable. Easy. Everyday.
Charlotte just happens to be the inspiration.
